Wisconsin Football Schedule 2023 – With USC and UCLA set to join the Big Ten for the 2024 season, there have been some questions about how the conference will determine the 2023 schedule and whether the East and West divisions will remain.
Here’s a look at the updated schedule for the Wisconsin Badgers heading into next season for the football team:
Wisconsin Football Schedule 2023
Overall, the schedule is pretty good for Wiscon. Depending on how things play out over the next few months with the transfer window, the Badgers are poised to return most of their starters next season, and the schedule isn’t too difficult.
Big Ten Releases 2023 Football Schedule
Wisconsin draws Ohio State, Rutgers and Indiana from the Big Ten East. While owning the Buckeyes is never ideal, avoiding Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State definitely reduces the difficulty on paper.
Out of conference, Wisconsin will be tested with a rematch at Washington State that will no doubt be tough, but home games against Buffalo and Georgia Southern should help the Badgers prepare for Big Ten play.
The late September tryout week is a bit early, meaning Wiscon will play eight games in a row to finish the season, which is tough physically, especially considering they’re all Big Ten opponents.

In terms of how the home and road games are divided, the Badgers, who host OSU, Iowa and Nebraska, make for a decent home slate. It will be interesting to see if Wiscon can make the home game against Ohio State a night game or if the Big Noon Kickoff picks this game up.

Big Ten Announces 2023 Football Schedule

Wisconsin offered Kyan Berry-Johnson, a Class of 2024 three-star wide receiver from Bolingbrook, Illinois, on Saturday. The 5-foot-1, 162-pound athlete has one more season of high school football before he can potentially make the jump to the college level.
Berry-Johnson has received six Division 1 offers so far, with Wisconsin representing the only high-profile program. With the addition of Luke Fickle as head coach and Phil Longo as offensive coordinator, the Badgers appear to have become a more attractive place for an offensive weapon.

Wisconsin offered Derek Jensen, a Class of 2024 three-star offensive tackle from Hartland, Wis., on Saturday. The 6-foot-1, 285-pound high school senior has one more season of football with Arrowhead before making the jump to the college level.
The offensive lineman already has 12 Division 1 offers, including Purdue, Iowa and Michigan State in the Big Ten. With him being a Wisconsin native, the Badgers should be considered the favorite to land his commitment in the coming months.
The Badgers offered Landon Gauthier, a three-star linebacker from Green Bay, on Saturday. The Class of 2024 athlete has one more season of football at Bay Port High School, but his 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame should transition well to the collegiate level.

The linebacker has received six Division 1 offers so far, but Wisconsin is likely one of the favorites given that he is an in-state option. With Mike Tressel’s defense taking over in 2023, Wisconsin will remain an attractive place for defensive players even when Jim Leonhardt is gone. MADISON – Big Ten officials released the league’s football schedules for the years 2022-25 on Wednesday:
UW then has three consecutive home games against non-conference opponents – Sept. 10 vs. Washington State, Sept. 17 vs. Hawaii and Sept. 24 vs. Illinois State.
Big Ten play continues Oct. 1 at Northwestern. UW will face host Michigan State on Oct. 8, host Maryland on Oct. 15, visit Purdue on Oct. 22 and, after a bye, host Nebraska on Nov. 5.
Big 12 Football Conference Schedule Announced
The Badgers play Ohio State on Nov. 12 in Columbus, Iowa on Nov. 19 in Iowa City and close the regular season on Nov. 26 against Minnesota.
UW opens the season on Sept. 2 against visiting Buffalo, plays Washington State on Sept. 9 and hosts Georgia State on Sept. 16 before the league opener.
After the bye, UW plays Oct. 14 at Illinois, Oct. 21 at Nebraska, hosts Ohio State on Oct. 28, hosts Northwestern on Nov. 4, plays Nov. 11 at Indiana, hosts Purdue on Nov. 18 and closes out the regular season. Nov. 25 at Minnesota.
