Soccer Soccer in Michigan: No need to panic about transfers There is no reason to worry about the recent leaks from Michigan’s transfer portal.
The addition of the transfer portal changed the landscape of college football forever. While the Wolverines signed an incredibly talented 2023 transfer portal class — adding seven veteran players to the roster — yesterday, Michigan Football’s transfer portal movement had the opposite effect. Three members of Jim Harbaugh’s squad have hit the transfer portal, leaving some fans worried as to why so many players are looking to leave.
Massachusetts Announces 2023 Football Schedule
Yesterday, three notable Wolverines entered the transfer portal: linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green, defensive back RJ Moten and wide receiver/returner AJ Henning. While all three names have gotten solid playing time in the corn and blue in recent years, none have caused crippling losses for Michigan.
Hill-Green and Moten mean; Both are entering their senior years and won’t see much of the field on Michigan’s incredible football roster this fall. Unfortunately, sometimes things happen just like this. Not even AJ Henning will earn a starting job and, even though he is an All-Big Ten specialist, Henning wants to see more playing time before graduation.
If he blocks transfers during the game, he’s not wrong. Michigan Football’s transfer gate move can also be explained by the scholarship limit. Even with the transfers over, the Wolverines are still over ten players over the scholarship limit; This means star players may have to leave and transfers may not be completed yet.
Look: Michigan’s 2023 Football Schedule Is Pathetic
It’s a tough part of college football, but a necessary one at the moment. Right now, Michigan football is headed to summer practice and set for the fall opener in early September—moves like these are inevitable for Jim Harbaugh & Co., and Michigan fans have no reason to get caught up in the panic.
The good news for the Wolverines is that the door is still open should any key players leave, and Michigan has some talented young players who should be poised to improve even more this fall. Transfers affect the depth of the squad, however, as we have seen many times in the past, the Wolverines embrace a ‘next man’ mentality and move forward regardless.

Michigan linebackers David Ojabo, right, and Nikhai Hill-Green play during the second half of Iowa’s 42-3 victory over Iowa in the Big Ten championship game, Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, in Indianapolis.
What a whirlwind day it’s been for Wolverine’s football schedule! For the third time today, a veteran football player from Michigan entered the transfer portal. AJ Henning and former starter RJ Moten came in today. Now, veteran linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green has announced his decision to transfer from the program.
While losing a player on the transfer gantry is never ideal, the linebacker is probably the most likely player to lose in Michigan football thanks in large part to depth. However, Hill-Green is a veteran in the locker room and has high hopes for a season that has been plagued by injuries. Lui missed the entire 2022 season with an injury, but was an important part of a Big Ten Championship-winning team in 2021.

Over the course of his career, Hill-Green started six times for the Maize and Blue and recorded 50 tackles between 2020 and 2021. He was on course for a breakout year in 2022 and an injury derailed his season .
The former three-star prospect right out of high school had a very successful career with Michigan football. He is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree (2021, 2022) and has provided much leadership during his three years with the program. Now, Hill-Green will take his talents elsewhere and will certainly be looking for a comeback year with whichever school he ultimately chooses.
The 2023 Syracuse Football Schedule Is Here!
It’s been a busy day for the University of Michigan on the transfer portal, perhaps not in the best of ways for the Wolverines. Two-time All-Big Ten specialist Michigan football player AJ Henning entered the transfer portal earlier this afternoon. Now, following Henning’s announcement, former veteran starting safety RJ Moten has done the same.
While Michigan’s defensive backfield still looks strong, the loss of Moten isn’t something many Michigan fans will be happy to hear.
Veteran safety RJ Moten is a four-star safety recruit in the class of 2020, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and the No. 256 in the class nationwide. 26 security and ranked the No. 2 recruit. 7. In the state of New Jersey. Like AJ Henning, Moten committed in mid-2019 and up to this point has seen three years of action with the Michigan football program.

Now, the New Jersey native takes his talents elsewhere.
