2023 Navy Football Schedule – Navy’s 2023 football schedule was finalized Tuesday when the American Athletic Association announced dates for all of its games.

Navy has a non-conference tournament with Notre Dame in Dublin, Ireland on Aug. 26 and against Wagner on Sept. 9 in Annapolis as well as a career school contest against Air Force and Army.

The Midshipmen, under first-year coach Brian Newberry, will play six home games, four road games and two neutral site contests.

This upcoming season marks the AAC’s debut as a league of 14. Commissioner Mike Aresco reassembled the All-American behind Central Florida, Cincinnati and Houston leaving for the Big 12 Conference.

In November, American announced its schedule for the 2023 through 2026 seasons. At the time, Navy knew it would play at home against North Texas, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, South Florida and East Carolina along with SMU, Memphis, Charlotte and Temple on the road.

The dates for those games were released Tuesday with Navy’s conference opener Thursday night (Sept. 14) against Memphis in the Liberty Bowl. Navy will have its AAC home opener against South Florida on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Navy Drops Marshall From 2023 Schedule

Due to a change in the AAC schedule, Navy will not meet Air Force on the first or second Saturday of October as usual. The match, the opening leg of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy series, will be played on Oct. 21 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The Senior Festival will be held Saturday, Nov., in Annapolis. 18, and East Carolina comes to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Pirates played the last home game for the Midshipmen during the 2021 season.

Navy’s final AAC game will be against SMU at Ford Stadium in Dallas. As always, the regular season concludes with the Army-Navy game, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Although Tennessee will lose the likes of quarterback Hendon Hooker and receiver Jalin Hyatt to the NFL, it is expected to be back in contention for first place in the SEC East in 2023.

But starting with Tennessee’s Sept. 16 game at Florida, the Vols had a solid six-game hitting streak. After a road trip to Gainesville, which is important to Tennessee’s SEC East title hopes, the Vols play at home against UTSA. The Roadrunners are coming off back-to-back wins and have won the C-USA title for two years.

After a home game against UTSA, South Carolina arrives on Sept. 30. The Gamecocks upset the Vols 63-38 last season, and the loss finished last in the playoffs.

Tennessee also has plenty of luck ahead of a home game against Texas A&M and back-to-back trips to Alabama and Kentucky. Tennessee has played TAMU just twice since the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012, and Texas A&M won the previous two meetings in 2016 and 2020.

The Vols haven’t beaten Alabama in Tuscaloosa since 2003, and getting back on the road against Kentucky a week later won’t be easy.

TCU shocked the college football world and made it to the national title game last year. As the Horned Frogs try to match the undefeated season they had last year, they will have to retrain starting in October. 7.

That week, TCU will go on the road to play Iowa State. The Cyclones beat TCU the last two times in Ames, in 2019 and 2021. TCU will play Oct. 14, followed by a road game at Kansas State on Oct. 21. The Wildcats upset TCU in the Big 12 playoffs last season, winning 31-28 in overtime.

TCU held its bye week on Oct. 28 before a trip to Texas Tech on Nov. 2. The Horned Frogs close out their regular season with home games against Texas and Baylor and a road tilt against Oklahoma on Nov. 24. Texas is expected to be one of the favorites for the Big 12 title next season, with Oklahoma also in the mix.

Many won’t consider Arkansas a playoff contender in 2023, but with KJ Jefferson returning, it could surprise some teammates next season. Unfortunately, the Razorbacks have about one of the toughest matchups in all of college football starting in late September.

On Sept. 23, Arkansas hits the road to play LSU. It is unusual to see the Razorbacks play the Tigers so early in the season; The last time these two teams played outside of November during the regular season was in 1933, according to Winsipedia.

After LSU, the Razorbacks played Texas A&M in Arlington on Sept. 30, followed by road games against Ole Miss and Alabama.

Arkansas then hosts Mississippi State at home on October. 21 before a very important weekend. Arkansas’ final road game of the season is Nov. 4 against Florida.

The Razorbacks’ toughest opponents are road games against LSU and Alabama, but playing Texas A&M and Ole Miss between those games is a challenge.

The Texas Longhorns finished 8-5 last season, which is an improvement from Steve Sarkisian’s 5-7 mark in 2021. The next step the Longhorns can take in 2023 is to compete for the Big 12 title .

In order to do that, Texas needs to have a pretty solid road system. The toughest matchup appears to come in Week 2, when the Longhorns travel to face Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 9.

The Tide beat the Longhorns 20-19 in Austin last season, and Bama hasn’t won a non-conference game at home since Louisiana-Monroe upset the Tide in Nick Saban’s first season at Alabama in 2007.

But the road test doesn’t just stop in Alabama. Texas will also go on the road to play Baylor on Sept. 23 and play another Big 12 game against Houston on Oct. 21. Baylor won the last two straight against Texas at home in 2019 and 2021.

In November, the Longhorns had back-to-back road trips with TCU and Iowa State. TCU beat Texas 17-10 in Austin last season, and Iowa State has won the last two games in Ames against Texas.

Ohio State advanced to the finals last year despite losing to Michigan. As he enters 2023, he will replace CJ Stroud at quarterback while navigating a difficult road system.
